Fire Rips Through Derelict Eastbourne Building

Firefighters raced to a blazing inferno at an abandoned building on Ashburnham Road, Eastbourne, on Thursday afternoon.

Blaze Erupts in Disused Property

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the fire at 4:55pm. Four fire engines and an Aerial Ladder Platform were deployed immediately.

Fire crews arrived to find flames engulfing the first floor and roof space. Teams donned breathing apparatus and attacked the blaze using a main jet and firefighting foam.

Road Closures and Safety Warnings

The road remains shut as firefighters battle the blaze. Sussex Police are on site, managing traffic and securing the area.

Nearby residents have been urged to keep doors and windows shut due to heavy smoke drifting in the neighbourhood. The public is advised to steer clear until the fire is fully contained.
