Assault outside Dolphin and Anchor

A 61-year-old man was left battered after a violent assault outside the Dolphin and Anchor pub on West Street, Chichester. The attack happened around 7pm on 14 March.

Victim possibly hit with a bottle

The victim was approached by a stranger before being attacked. Witnesses say he may have been struck with a bottle, causing serious injuries.

Suspect in custody but released on bail

Sussex Police arrested a 20-year-old local man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on bail as enquiries continue.

Police urge witnesses to come forward

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the assault or has mobile phone or CCTV footage to get in touch. Report info online quoting serial 1270 of 14/03.
