Sidcup Teacher Paul Clifton Jailed for Sexually Abusing Pupils

Paul england/Cliftonclifton/”>Clifton, 55, a former English teacher from Sidcup, has been sentenced to five years in prison for grooming and sexually abusing two underage girls. Clifton targeted a 16-year-old pupil at a south london/”>east London school in 2006, then abused a 15-year-old girl at a Surrey school in 2017.

The teacher gained the girls’ trust with gifts and attention before coercing them into long-term sexual relationships. One victim said, “Asking how this impacts my life is like asking someone how they breathe… The defendant robbed that from me.”
Scott was jailed for six years, while White received a suspended sentence. Detective Ian Bradshaw warned the dangerous smuggling fuels debts, violence, and risk to staff and inmates alike.

Croydon Rapist Osama Alkhair Sentenced

Osama Alkhair, 37, was convicted and sentenced to seven years and four months for attempting to rape an unconscious woman in Croydon. He was interrupted mid-attack on December 29, 2023.

Judge Tony Hyams-Parish warned Alkhair would be deported after serving two-thirds of his sentence. “You took advantage of a woman who was clearly incapable of consenting,” the judge said.

Shoplifter Wesley Maughan Jailed for £34K Theft Spree

Wesley Maughan, 25, stole over £34,000 worth of stock from Boots stores in Banstead and Coulsdon, plus other shops across Surrey, London, Buckinghamshire, and Kent.

CCTV caught him filling bags and walking out without paying. He was arrested at Harwich Port trying to flee under a fake ID. Maughan pleaded guilty to 13 counts of shop theft and was jailed for 22 months.
