Police and paramedics are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Brighton Road, South Croydon, this afternoon.
The incident, which happened shortly after 5pm, is understood to have involved a pedestrian and a van, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the road has been closed in both directions between Warham Road and Aberdeen Road.

A spokesperson for Transport for London confirmed that a number of bus routes are currently being diverted, including the 60, 119, 166, 312, 403, 405, 407, 412, 466 and 468. Route 468 has been curtailed to Croydon, Park Street.
Queues are building in the area and motorists are advised to avoid the route and seek alternative journeys where possible.
