Paper £5 Notes to Vanish on 5th May!
Nearly 165 million paper £5 notes were still in use at the start of the year. But come 5th May, they will no longer be legal tender.
Where Can You Spend or Swap Them?
- Retailers will refuse paper £5 notes from 5th May onwards.
- Certain banks might accept them for a limited time after the deadline.
Don’t Get Stuck with Worthless Notes!
If you’re caught holding onto these notes past the cut-off, your only hope is a trip to the Bank of England to exchange them.
