Man charged over Toxteth shooting

Ali Karadas, 20, has been charged following a shocking shooting in Toxteth last month. The incident happened on March 12 on Lime Grove, near Lodge Lane, when a 17-year-old girl was shot in the legs inside a house.

The victim underwent surgery but is now recovering

Armed police rushed to the scene after reports of the shooting. The teenager was taken to the hospital with leg injuries requiring surgery. Thankfully, she has now been discharged.

Police arrest and charge the suspect

Merseyside Police launched an immediate investigation. On April 15, officers arrested a suspect connected to the attack. The next day, Karadas was officially charged with wounding with intent and possession of a prohibited firearm. Karadas appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on April 16 and has been remanded in custody as inquiries continue.
