A dangerous thug has been locked up after savage assaults on two victims rocked Sheffield. Mark Warren, 30, was caught red-handed thanks to bloody fingerprints, witness statements, and forensic evidence.

Horrific Attack on Morland Road

In June 2025, witnesses spotted Warren fleeing a flat on Morland Road drenched in blood. Police rushed to the scene to find a man inside with life-threatening injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital and survived, but still suffers lasting damage from the brutal assault.

Forensic Clues Seal Warren’s Fate

Investigators uncovered two bloody fingerprints at the scene, both matching Warren. Witnesses also linked him to the property, which was rented in his name. This confirmed Warren’s responsibility for the horrific attack.

Second Victim Fights Back in Gleadless

The violence didn’t stop there. The same month, Warren launched a sustained and violent assault on a second victim in Gleadless. He strangled her several times, punched, and kicked her relentlessly. Showing incredible bravery, the victim escaped the flat and reported Warren to police. He was later tracked down and arrested by Officer Rocco and his K9 partner after trying to dodge capture.

14 Years Behind Bars

Warren faced serious charges, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and intentional strangulation. In October 2025, he pled guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and intentional strangulation, with the attempted murder charge dropped. On Monday, 13 April, Sheffield Crown Court sentenced Warren to 14 years in prison plus an extended five-year licence period. Justice has been served for these chilling attacks.
