Police seal off busy North End high street as investigation kicks off
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed right in front of terrified shoppers in Croydon town centre yesterday afternoon (April 15). The attack happened at around 2:50pm on North End, the busy pedestrianised stretch linking Centrale and Whitgift shopping centres.
Paramedics rush to treat teen, injuries not life-threatening
Emergency crews treated the boy at the scene before rushing him to the hospital. The Metropolitan Police confirmed his injuries are serious but not life-changing or life-threatening.
Scene sealed off, no arrests yet
Photos show police cordoning off the area near the Marks & Spencer entrance. Despite an intensive investigation, no arrests have been made so far.
“Around 14:50hrs on Wednesday, 15 April, police attended North End, Croydon, following reports of a stabbing,” a Met Police spokesperson said. “A 16-year-old boy was treated at the scene for stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were declared non-life-changing and non-life-threatening. No arrests have been made, and officers are making enquiries.”

Police are calling on anyone who saw the incident to contact them on 101, quoting reference 4554/15APR. Alternatively, people can report anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
