After a vehicle stop in Portsmouth, two men from the Isle of Wight were charged with drug supply

Officers stopped a vehicle travelling into Hampshire via the A3 on St George’s Road in Portsmouth at 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

A passenger is accused of exiting the vehicle and running towards the Millennium Walkway at Gunwharf Quays before throwing a rucksack containing suspected Class A drugs into the water.

As part of the investigation, two men were arrested and charged.

They are as follows:

James Brian Rose, 27, of North Road in Shanklin, has been charged with concealing criminal property and two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Martyn Andrew Shotton, 44, of Sun Hill in Cowes, was charged with concealing criminal property, drug driving, and two counts of Class A drug possession with intent to supply.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court this morning (30 June).

We continue to urge residents to report any suspicious behaviour or suspected drug dealing in their neighbourhood, as the information you provide helps us develop a bigger picture, which leads us to take action and remove drugs from the streets.
