We understand residents’ concerns about recent firearms-related incidents in Birmingham, and we’ve already increased patrols to reassure them.
“It is too early to speculate on whether this is linked to any other incident, but our message is clear – we will not tolerate violence in our city,” said Detective Inspector Laura Harrison of our homicide team.
“Another young man has sadly died, and another family will be mourning the loss of a loved one.”
We will continue to conduct regular operations to disrupt and deter violent crime because firearms have no place on our streets. We focus on removing firearms from criminal hands through raids and seizures in gun crime hotspots.
