Changes to Garden Waste Collection Service in Andover

Test Valley Borough Council will be writing to all current Garden Waste Collection Service subscribers this week, to let them know about some changes to the subscription process which will make it easier than ever before for them to renew.   All current Garden Waste Collection Service subscriptions are due to come to an end on Sunday, 8 May 2016, and customers can now opt to renew their subscription automatically and pay by annual direct debit.   For just £29.50, the council will collect one garden waste wheeled bin or sack every fortnight for a whole year. Anyone who requires the council to collect more than one garden waste bin or sack at a time will pay £17 for each additional subscription.   Residents who aren’t already signed up to the Garden Waste Collection Service can register at www.testvalley.gov.uk/gardenwaste, or call the council’s customer services team on 01264 368000 or 01794 527700.   Environmental portfolio holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “If you are a current subscriber, all you need to do is sit tight and you will receive a letter or email in the next few days with further information. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for customers to renew their subscription, to save them going through the process of having to re-register online or over the telephone each year. We have also streamlined the registration process for new subscribers, so it is even easier for residents to sign up.”   Whether renewing their subscription or signing up for the first time, customers will have the opportunity to purchase a new wheeled bin or reusable sack. A 240 litre garden waste wheeled bin costs £25 and a 130 litre garden waste sack costs £1.50. Both are one-off charges in addition to the subscription charge. Those who have a spare wheeled bin at home that they wish to use can request a garden waste label for it. Customers who already have a garden waste bin or sack which is in good condition can continue to use this.
