Police would like to speak to him about a burglary that took place at a school in Andover. At around 4.30pm on Wednesday, March 16, a man entered The Education Centre, in Smannell Road, searched an office and took a purse from a handbag belonging to a member of staff. The claret-coloured purse had a design with small blue and green flowers, and contained £30 cash, credit cards and sentimental photographs. The man then walked away from The Education Centre towards Smannell Road. It took place after the school day but while staff were still on site. The man is described as white, around 6ft tall and of average build. He wore a green jacket with two breast pockets, blue jeans, light-coloured trainers and a bobble hat, which had light-coloured stars on a dark background with a large, dark bobble. PC Sarah Warner, from Andover police station, said: “The man wore a particularly distinctive hat and may have stood out to someone returning home along Smannell Road that day. “We would also like to hear from anyone who can help establish the man’s direction of travel.”
