Tragedy at White Cliffs: Person Found Dead at Dover Clifftop

Emergency services rushed to the White Cliffs near Dover on Thursday after a body was discovered at the cliff base. At least five police units, ambulances, and coastguard teams were spotted on the scene shortly after 1:15pm.

Rescue Teams Mobilised

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Folkestone, Deal, and Langdon Battery sprang into action. The Dover RNLI lifeboat also assisted, recovering the victim to the lifeboat station, with a police officer onboard during the transfer.

Despite their efforts, the person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Official Coastguard Statement

“His Majesty’s Coastguard has been assisting with an incident at Langdon Bay in Kent this afternoon (October 6). The Coastguard was made aware of the incident at around 1.15pm, and assets including Coastguard Rescue Teams from Folkestone, Deal and Langdon Battery were sent to the scene. An RNLI lifeboat from Dover was also sent to the scene. Kent Police and the ambulance service are in attendance.”

Police, ambulance, and coastguard services have been contacted for further comment.
