All Hands on Deck: Coastguard and Lifeboats Scour Land and Sea
The search involved coastguard teams from Hill Head, Southampton, Newport, Portsmouth, Bembridge, and Ventnor. Lifeboats from five different groups took to the waters – including Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue, Hamble Lifeboat, and RNLI crews from Cowes, Bembridge, and Portsmouth. A coastguard rescue helicopter from Lee on the Solent also combed the area from the air.
Ground and river searches covered the Isle of Wight, including the river Medina and Wootton Creek, as teams left no stone unturned.
Earlier Clues, No Sign of Missing Kayaker
This intense search follows two previous operations after clothing was found washed up on beaches in Portsmouth and Cowes. Despite the huge efforts, no missing kayaker or other individuals have been found to date.
