Police have launched a murder investigation after a 37-year-old man was found fatally stabbed at a property in Regency Square, Brighton, early on Sunday, 26 April. Emergency services responded at around 2.10am following reports of a fight inside the address. Officers discovered two men with stab wounds; one man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man in his 30s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Suspect Arrested Nearby
A 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested close to the scene. He is currently in police custody and faces charges including suspicion of murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply. Enquiries into the incident continue.

Brighton Chief Superintendent Adam Hays said: “This incident has had devastating consequences, resulting in the loss of one man’s life and leaving another with serious injuries. There is not believed to be a wider risk to the public, and a thorough investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.”

Authorities have increased patrols in and around Regency Square as part of Operation Wenthill. Chief Superintendent Hays added: “We are committed to robustly tackling knife crime and will take swift and decisive action against those involved in violent offending in Brighton.”
