A34 Carriageway Closure in Hampshire Following Collision

The A34 in Hampshire is currently closed in both directions between the B4640 (Newtown) and the A343 (Enbourne Row) following a collision that has caused extensive barrier damage and debris on the carriageway.

Hampshire Police are on the scene managing the situation, and diversions have been put in place for motorists affected by the closure.

Diversion Routes:

Northbound Traffic:

  • Follow the Solid Diamond Symbol:
    • Leave the A34 northbound at the Bullington Cross interchange.
    • Take the 1st exit and join the A303 westbound.
    • Continue for approximately 5 miles towards Andover.
    • Exit the A303 at the Picket Twenty interchange and join the A3093.
    • Proceed through 2 intermediate roundabouts to the A343 roundabout (Newbury Road).
    • Take the 3rd exit to join the A343 and continue for approximately 14 miles to the A34 Wash Common interchange.
    • At the T junction, turn left to rejoin the A34 northbound.

Southbound Traffic:

  • Follow the Solid Triangle Symbol:
    • Leave the A34 southbound at the Wash Common interchange.
    • At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit to join the A343.
    • Follow the A343 beneath the A34 and continue for approximately 14 miles into Andover.
    • At the A3093 roundabout, take the 1st exit to join the A3093 (Churchill Way).
    • Continue over 2 intermediate roundabouts to the A303 Picket Twenty interchange.
    • Take the 1st exit and join the A303 eastbound.
    • Follow for approximately 5 miles to the A34 Bullington Cross interchange.
    • Exit the A303, proceed to a roundabout, and take the 2nd exit onto the link road to another roundabout, passing beneath the A34 and A303.
    • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit to rejoin the A34 southbound.

Motorists are advised to follow the diversion signs and allow extra time for their journeys. Please avoid the area if possible and seek alternative routes.
