The fire damaged the majority of two flats on the first and second floors of the building. A nine-metre ladder was used by firefighters to rescue a man from a second-floor window. Before the Brigade arrived, four more people had left the property. There were no reported injuries.

As a precaution, one petrol cylinder was removed from the building and cooled to room temperature, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
