Damaged ferry link span to be repaired

The Red Funnel ferry company has revealed the headache that has caused many delays and upsets ton passengers is about to be repaired. It confirmed works to repair the linkspan at the Southampton terminal will take place at weekend subject to weather conditions. The damaged parts had to be specially ordered and have caused several months delays to passengers on the busy East Cowes to Southampton vehicle ferry service. Staff for nearly a year have been unable to load the upper and main decks at the same time. In a statement released by Red Funnel it they said: “We do know how frustrated you’ve been when it comes to how long it’s taken for these parts to get here, and we’ve been just as irritated as you. We’ve been trying our very best to expedite the repair process so we’re really pleased to let you know that the day has finally come. “We just want to say a massive thank you to all our passengers for their continued patience as we try our best to operate as quick as we can under the current limitations and keep everyone safe at the same time”.
