Two Dead in Separate Horrific Crashes in Louth and Limerick

Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Dublin Road, Limerick

A man lost his life after being hit by two cars in Castletroy, Co Limerick, last night. The crash happened around 9.50pm on Dublin Road. Shockingly, one of the drivers fled the scene, leaving chaos behind.

The pedestrian was rushed to University Hospital Limerick, but doctors couldn’t save him. A man in his 40s driving one of the cars and a female passenger were both wounded, though the injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening. They were also taken to hospital.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are combing the scene. To keep them safe, Dublin Road remains shut between Groody Roundabout and Golf Links Road. Local diversions are in place.

Man in His 30s Dies in Tractor-Car Crash on M1, Louth

A tragic crash on the M1 Northbound near Mooremont claimed the life of a male passenger in his 30s. The collision between a tractor and a car occurred at around 2am between Junctions 12 and 14.

Two other male car occupants, aged in their 20s and 60s, sustained injuries but are expected to recover. They were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have closed M1 Northbound lanes before Junction 13 for a full probe. Southbound lanes remain open with local diversions in place.
