[ytp_video source=”F_tvwwFlK0A”] The enormous lorry, which was transporting an electrical transformer for the national grid, took over the street and part of the M25 on Saturday evening. Under the watchful eye of officers from the Commercial vehicle’s unit from Essex Police, the major load made its way around the M25 after the 25 Million pound transformer was shipped in from the Netherlands. The haulage lorry’s size and 200-tonne weight had a maximum speed of 10 and 15mph and had to take to an indirect route to get to the location of the new Power station in Wandsworth. A police escort of four officers and specialist haulage team were accompanying the lorry on its journey thinking that Saturday would be the best time to move the oversize cargo. Amazed Saturday revellers stopped to take pictures and selfies with the giant load whilst drinkers cheered on the circus that had taken over the roads of many towns in London Millions of resident around London will rely on the new transformer to supply their electricity without interruption, day in, day out.
