A man has been arrested and charged following an incident involving a drone flown within the flight restriction zone of London City Airport. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, October 30, prompted a swift police response as authorities sought to enforce strict regulations around airport safety.
Arek Serowinski, 46, of Staplehurst Road in Lewisham, was charged on Thursday, October 31, with several offences, including aircraft endangerment, possession of a knife, and flying a drone in a Flight Restriction Zone. The charges reflect the serious nature of the incident and the potential risks posed to aircraft and public safety.
Following his arrest, Serowinski was released on police bail and is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on November 14, 2024.
