A motorcyclist has been airlifted to a major trauma centre following a road traffic collision in Shrewsbury this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received a call at 12.22pm regarding a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on the A49 in Upper Battlefield, Shrewsbury. An ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with two paramedics on board attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman reported, “The motorcyclist, a man, was given trauma care at the scene by the team of ambulance staff for potentially serious injuries. He was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further emergency care.
The car driver, a woman, was assessed but did not require further treatment and was discharged on the scene.
