Police are hunting witnesses after a serious crash left a 77-year-old man badly injured in Oxfordshire.

The smash happened today (29 April) around 2.40pm on Lechlade Road (A417). A three-series BMW was involved, suffering heavy damage. The driver – a 77-year-old man – was rushed to hospital and remains in a serious condition.

Road Still Closed as Police Probe Continues

Lechlade Road remains shut while officers investigate, but it’s expected to reopen later tonight.

Police Plea for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

“We are working to establish the circumstances of this collision, and I would urge anyone who witnessed it to come forward and talk to police,” said Sergeant Bryan Smith from the Roads Policing Joint Operations Unit.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident. If you have any information, please call Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 746 29/4.”
