Police Appeal for Witnesses After Concrete Slab Thrown at Moving Taxi in Glenrothes – UKNIP

Police in Glenrothes are urging witnesses to come forward following a disturbing incident where a moving taxi was targeted by a thrown concrete slab from a pedestrian flyover. The incident occurred on the B921 en route to Kinglassie around 12.30am on Sunday, August 6. The impact led to injuries sustained by a man and a woman, both 37 years old, who were subsequently taken to Glenrothes Hospital for treatment.

This unsettling occurrence is not an isolated event, as police are also investigating two other incidents with striking similarities that took place at the same location. In these instances, vehicles were hit by wheelie bins tossed from the same pedestrian flyover. The first incident transpired around 1am on Sunday, July 16, while the second incident occurred at approximately 3.55am on Wednesday, July 19. Although no injuries were reported in these cases, the targeted cars sustained damage.

Inspector Kirk Donnelly of Glenrothes Police Station conveyed his concern over the reckless actions that have led to injuries and potential severe consequences. He urged anyone who may have witnessed these events or possesses information that could aid the investigations to come forward. Inspector Donnelly encouraged individuals to contact the police at 101, referencing case number 0108 of August 6, or to provide anonymous tips to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
