A moped delivery rider has been left with injuries following an incident in Barking Road, E6, early Wednesday morning, prompting police to launch a double investigation.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called just after 1 a.m. to reports of an altercation on Barking Road. It is understood that those involved later got into a vehicle, which subsequently collided with an Uber Just Eat fast food delivery rider.

The impact left the rider and their moped severely damaged. Emergency services attended the scene, and a road closure remains in place as investigators work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Authorities have yet to confirm if any arrests have been made. The Met Police have been contacted for a full statement, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.

Local residents and delivery riders have expressed concern over the incident, with some calling for greater safety measures for those working in the gig economy.
This is a developing story. More details to follow.
