Rapist Jailed for Brutal Attack on Teenage Girl in Nottingham Hotel

Dylan Davis, 24, of Strelley Road, Nottingham, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for the brutal rape and assault of a teenage girl in a Nottingham city centre hotel room on 16 August 2020.

During the vicious attack, Davis smashed a beer bottle over the victim’s head, flushed her mobile phone down the toilet, and subjected her to further violence by biting and punching her. He threatened to kill the victim if she tried to escape before raping her. Hotel cleaning staff discovered the room in disarray the following day, with broken glass strewn across the floor.

Despite Davis’s claims of consensual sex, he was convicted of two counts of rape and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after a trial. The victim bravely reported the incident upon returning home and received support from specially-trained officers from Nottinghamshire Police.

Detective Inspector Dan Holloway of Nottinghamshire Police praised the victim’s courage: “Detectives are full of admiration for this victim who has shown immense bravery and dignity. Davis subjected her to a violent and degrading ordeal before refusing to admit what he had done. Without her bravery, he would not have been brought to justice.”

DI Holloway also thanked the officers and staff who worked tirelessly to secure Davis’s conviction and urged other victims of rape and serious sexual assault to come forward, assuring them of the support available from experienced officers.
