Firefighters Tackle Blaze in East London Home

 

Three people have been taken to hospital after a house fire erupted in Dagenham in the early hours of Wednesday morning (February 5).

Six fire engines and approximately 40 firefighters responded to the blaze at a semi-detached house on New Road at around 1:00 am.

Firefighters Battle the Flames

Fire crews from Dagenham and Barking fire stations arrived quickly and managed to bring the fire under control by 2:17 am.

According to London Fire Brigade (LFB), part of the ground floor of the property was damaged by the flames. Fortunately, the three residents managed to evacuate safely before firefighters arrived.

They were then taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. Their conditions have not been disclosed.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is underway to determine what sparked the blaze.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said:

“Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a semi-detached house on New Road in Dagenham. Three people left the building before the Brigade arrived and were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

Emergency Response and Road Closures

Control officers received the first emergency call at 1:16 am, dispatching fire crews to the scene shortly after. Emergency services remained on-site for over an hour, ensuring the fire was fully extinguished and the area was made safe.

Residents in the New Road area were advised to avoid the vicinity while firefighters worked to contain the fire.

The London Fire Brigade has reminded residents to check their smoke alarms regularly and take necessary precautions to prevent fires at home.
