Toddler Drowns at Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve
Tragedy struck at Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve as two-year-old Greyson Birch was found unresponsive in water on Sunday evening, May 30. Emergency services rushed to the scene at 8.21pm and pulled the toddler from the water.
Greyson, from the Sholing area of Southampton, was rushed to Southampton General Hospital but sadly passed away on Thursday, June 3.
Family Heartbreak: A Bright Light Gone Too Soon
Greyson’s family paid a heartfelt tribute to their little boy:

“His bubbly personality filled all our hearts with joy and happiness and will linger in this world.”

“Every time we hear ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ or ‘Baby Shark’ and he’s not there dancing and clapping, it breaks our hearts.”
“His cheeky little smile will remain forever in our hearts. We know he’s now in a safe place watching over his sibling and all who knew him.”
The family requests privacy as they grieve this devastating loss.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Authorities continue to investigate how Greyson ended up in the water. They urge anyone who was near Swanwick Lakes between 7.45pm and 8.30pm on May 30 to come forward with information.
