Missing Dad Barry McCullagh Found Dead Near Paisley

Barry McCullagh, 40, from Castlemilk, was last spotted on October 5 around 5.20pm on Corsebar Road, Paisley, near the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Hospitalised After Hallucinations

The father of two had been admitted to Royal Alexandra Hospital on October 4 following hallucinations. He went missing the next day after being allowed outside for a cigarette.

Tragic Discovery in Old Patrick Water

On Sunday, March 26, police were called to reports of a man’s body in Old Patrick Water, Elderslie, Johnstone.

“Around 6.15pm on Sunday, March 26, police received a call reporting a body in Old Patrick Water,” said a Police Scotland spokesperson. “Officers and emergency teams are at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.”

Family Notified, Formal ID Pending

While formal identification is yet to happen, Barry’s family have been informed. He had been missing from the Paisley area since October 5, 2022.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were requested to assist emergency services in Elderslie at 6.53pm on March 26. Two water rescue units and two fire engines were dispatched to Glen Gardens, where crews helped police before standing down. They returned at 9.20am on March 27 to continue support.”
