Man Who Survived Cardiac Arrest Now Saves Lives as Community Responder
Peter Corr’s life was saved in 2019 when two good Samaritans performed CPR on him after he suffered a cardiac arrest during his daily run. Thanks to their quick actions, and the ambulance crew that followed, Peter got a second chance.
From Victim to Hero: Peter Becomes a First Responder
Realising how crucial immediate CPR is, Peter didn’t just stop at surviving—he became a Community First Responder (CFR). CFRs are everyday people who deliver lifesaving help before ambulances arrive. Peter is now one of these frontline heroes, helping others in emergencies.
Running For Life: Taking on a 50-Mile Challenge
A former marathon runner, Peter recently completed a 5K and is now preparing for his toughest test yet. Alongside his running mate Dave Isaac, he’s set to tackle 50 miles along the T50 footpath—a challenge Peter calls “a ridiculous thing to do.”
Why Everyone Should Learn CPR, According to Peter
“Roughly one in ten people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside of hospital survive because of fast medical help,” Peter reveals. “I urge everyone to learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator. Then have the courage to ‘have a go’ if the moment comes.”
“Every one of us, adults and kids alike, can save a life. I am living proof. The people who took action on me changed my life forever.”
