Major Crash Shuts A3(M) in Hampshire – Both Directions Closed
The A3(M) in Hampshire is shut both ways between Junction 2 Dell Piece Interchange (Havant, Lovedean B2149) and Junction 3 Waterlooville Interchange (Waterlooville, Havant B2150) after a serious collision.
Hampshire Police are leading the emergency response, with South Central Ambulance Service and National Highways Traffic Officers also on scene. Due to the severity, the closure is expected to last all night.
Drivers Trapped in Closure Urged to Stay Put
If you’re stuck in the closure, please stay with your vehicles. Hampshire Police and National Highways are working to close the road fully before they start turning vehicles around from the back of the queue.

Detours in Place – Follow Signs Carefully
Southbound Diversion:
- Leave A3(M) at Junction 2.
- At the roundabout, take the third exit onto B2149 Dell Piece West.
- Continue to A3 portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth Road junction, turn left onto A3.
- Proceed to Waterlooville, then at roundabout with B2150 Hulbert Road take first exit.
- Follow B2150 to A3(M) Junction 3 and take third exit to rejoin A3(M) southbound.
Northbound Diversion:
- Leave A3(M) at Junction 3.
- At roundabout, take first exit onto B2150 Hulbert Road.
- At next roundabout with A3, take second exit.
- Follow A3 to junction with B2149 Dell Piece West.
- Turn right onto B2149 and follow to A3(M) Junction 2.
- Take first exit at roundabout to rejoin A3(M) northbound.
