A violent pair who scalded a man with boiling water during a vicious two-hour assault have been locked up for their savage crime.
Relentless Attack Over Money
Blu Wright, 30, and Tegan Hawley, 37, launched the horrific attack at an Eastwood address last June. The victim was socialising with the pair when they suddenly turned on him, hammering him with anything they could grab – including a pole, a speaker, and a vase.
Not satisfied with pounding him, Wright and Hawley also repeatedly punched the man’s face. They then poured boiling water over his arm, threatening him and demanding cash.
Serious Injuries and Swift Justice
The victim suffered a fractured eye socket, multiple facial injuries, and burns from the scalding water.
The attack sparked an investigation that quickly identified Wright and Hawley as the culprits. Both pled guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent during their court appearance last November.
Wright also admitted separate charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray from an unrelated April 2022 assault in Derbyshire.
Harsh Sentences at Nottingham Crown Court
On Thursday, 19 March, Nottingham Crown Court handed down tough jail terms. Wright, from Comet Drive, Eastwood, was sentenced to eight years and nine months behind bars. Hawley, of Cromford Road, Langley Mill, received four-and-a-half years.
Justice was served for a brutal crime that left lasting scars.
