Just before 8pm tonight, chaos erupted on Painters Road, Ilford, as a massive barn fire tore through a hay barn. Eight fire engines and about 60 firefighters battled the blazing inferno that quickly engulfed the entire building.
Heroic Rescue: Horses Saved from Burning Barn
In a dramatic twist, brave firefighters helped the barn owners lead three horses to safety. Miraculously, all three animals emerged unscathed despite the raging flames.
Road Closures and Ongoing Firefighting Efforts
Station Commander Stephen Irvine, at the scene, warned: “Hainault Road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible. This is expected to be a protracted incident and crews will be at the scene of the fire throughout the evening.”
The cause of the blaze remains a mystery as firefighters continue their relentless battle to bring the fire under control.
