Filming has kicked off for the much-awaited 13th series of the beloved period drama Call the Midwife. Fans can expect two exciting new pupil midwives to join the iconic Nonnatus House crew.

Meet Joyce Highland and Rosalind Clifford

Newcomers Renee Bailey and Natalie Quarry have landed key roles. Bailey plays Joyce Highland, a bright and determined young woman from Trinidad with a dark secret she’s desperate to hide. Quarry’s character, Rosalind Clifford, brings warmth, passion, and humour to the mix.

New Season Set in 1969 Brings Grit and Heart

The upcoming series will feature 8 hour-long episodes airing in 2024. Set against the backdrop of 1969 Poplar, the show will tackle tough medical cases and delve deep into personal dramas. Expect powerful stories highlighting the Sylheti and Nigerian communities, plus gritty life around the docks.
