Coastguard teams from Hillhead, Portsmouth and Gosport & Fareham were deployed after two people were stuck 220metre in mud near to the M275 in Portsmouth this evening.
Fire crews and the Hazardous Area Response Team were also on scene to assist the rescue.
The two were rescued and passed over to the care of Ambulance services.
