The suspect fled the scene, abandoning the Lexus on the Kings Mead estate in Hackney. Police smashed one of the car’s windows during the chase – a detail witnesses may have seen.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Potter said: “We need your help to identify the driver. Did you see the grey Lexus between the A12 and Hackney? Our colleague was hurt trying to protect the public from a reckless driver. No one should be injured while doing their job.”
