Deadly Blaze as Motorcycle Smashes into Passenger Bus
A horror crash turned deadly fireball early Friday in southern India. A speeding motorcycle slammed into the rear of a luxury passenger bus carrying 44 people near Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. The collision sparked a fierce blaze that killed at least 25 passengers and left many more injured.
Passengers Trapped in Burning Bus
Many were asleep when the crash happened. Sparks from the collision ignited the bus’s fuel tank, quickly swallowing the vehicle in flames. Some passengers smashed windows to escape with minor injuries, but dozens were tragically burned alive before rescue teams could arrive. “The fire was so intense the driver couldn’t control it despite trying with a fire extinguisher,” said senior police official Vikrant Patil. The motorbike rider also died on the scene after being wedged under the bus and dragged in the crash.

The bus was travelling between Hyderabad and Bengaluru when it crashed near Chinnatekuru village, about 130 miles south of Hyderabad.

This disaster comes just weeks after another deadly bus fire ripped through a coach in Rajasthan, killing at least 20. That blaze was believed to have been caused by a short circuit. These tragic incidents highlight serious concerns over road safety and vehicle maintenance standards on India’s highways.
