A murder investigation has been launched after a 26-year-old man was fatally shot in Camden late on Saturday night, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Officers were called to reports of gunshots at approximately 11:00pm on Saturday, March 28, on Chalton Street. Emergency services attended the scene, where a man was found inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim Named and Tributes Paid
Following a post-mortem examination carried out on Tuesday, March 31, the man has been formally identified as Nahom Medhanie.
His family, who are being supported by specially trained officers, paid a heartfelt tribute, describing him as “more than a son and a brother.”
They said:
“Nahom was more than a son and a brother to us and since his passing it has been the hardest days of our lives.
He was funny, honest and would just light up the room with his presence and that’s what we loved most about him.”
The family has requested privacy as they come to terms with their loss.

CCTV Reveals Key Details
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation. Early enquiries, including CCTV analysis, suggest Nahom was sitting in a white Nissan Juke when he was shot multiple times.
Police believe the suspect arrived and fled the scene on a bicycle.
At this stage, no arrests have been made, and investigations remain ongoing.
