Fire Service Combats Lorry Blaze in Hove

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service responded to a call at 8:52 am on March 21, 2024, concerning a refuse lorry ablaze on Grand Avenue, Hove.

Responding to the emergency were three fire engines from Hove and Preston Circus, along with a Technical Rescue Unit.

Authorities are urging the public to steer clear of the vicinity and are advising nearby residents to seal their windows and doors.

By 10:37 am, firefighting teams were employing four breathing apparatus, a main jet, a hose reel jet, and a thermal imaging camera to combat the blaze.

Efforts to extinguish the fire are showing positive progress, and fortunately, there have been no injuries reported.

Residents are encouraged to continue avoiding the area and to keep their windows and doors shut for safety.
