Five men have been convicted of fatally stabbing 21-year-old Giovanny Rendon Bedoya in a brutal April 2025 attack in Walworth, south London. The violent clash came amid rising tensions between rival groups. After an intense 11-week trial at the Old Bailey, a jury delivered guilty verdicts, bringing a hard-hitting end to the relentless hunt for justice.
Brutal Chase Ends in Tragedy
The horror unfolded on the evening of Monday, 14 April 2025, near Hillingdon Street and Langdale Close, SE17. Police were called at 9:16pm to reports of a group fighting with knives. Officers found Giovanny behind residential flats, suffering multiple stab wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at 10:07pm. A post-mortem confirmed multiple sharp-force injuries as the cause of death. Giovanny had been chased through an alley before being cornered and viciously attacked.

Investigator Vows to Crush Violence
“This was a sustained and extremely violent attack, carried out by a group acting together,” said Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, head of the investigation. “Giovanny was chased and killed in brutal circumstances. Today’s convictions reflect the strength of the evidence and the determination of the investigation team. Our thoughts remain with Giovanny’s family and loved ones, who have shown immense dignity throughout these proceedings. “Such brutality has no place on our streets – it rips families and communities apart. That’s why the Met is doing everything it can to target dangerous offenders and prevent senseless violence.”
All five men are set to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 20 May.
