A dramatic pursuit unfolded in the Maidstone area on Sunday afternoon when a VW vehicle failed to stop for police officers. This led to a high-speed chase and a subsequent manhunt involving helicopter air support.
The incident began when traffic police attempted to pull over the VW. However, the driver refused to comply, initiating a chase through the streets of Maidstone. In a desperate bid to evade capture, the driver eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into a woodland area near Lenham Road, close to Church Farm near Ulcombe

In response to this escalation, National Police Air Support was summoned to assist in the search.

Along with ground response officers, they conducted an extensive area search. Their efforts paid off when a man was located and detained in connection with the incident.

The suspect remains in custody, facing several charges related to the pursuit and his failure to stop for the police. The details of these offences are yet to be disclosed.
Kent Police have been approached for an official statement regarding the incident. The high-speed chase and the subsequent manhunt have highlighted the effectiveness of coordinated police operations involving both ground and air units.
