Jamie Oliver’s Right-Hand Man to Launch New Deli in Southsea

Southsea foodies, get ready! Daniel Nowland, Jamie Oliver’s trusted sidekick for the last eight years, is opening a brand-new delicatessen in the heart of town. The Southsea Deli is set to open its doors in early February at the former Jam & Bowler café spot, right on the busy junction of Albert Road and Victoria Road South.

From Local Lad to Food Industry Pro

Daniel, a true local, jumped at the chance when the café closed. With a lifelong passion for scrumptious food, he’s spent his career chasing the finest flavours and top-quality produce. Starting as a teenage chef and pub manager, he later earned a degree in Food Production & Retail from Bournemouth University.

After a year at Marks & Spencer as a food product developer, Daniel was snapped up by the Jamie Oliver empire, where he made his mark. “It’s been a pleasure and honour working with Daniel, a good man, total professional and a friend more than a boss could ever dream,” said Jamie Oliver.

Bringing Southsea Supper Club Vibes to a New Deli

Locals will already know Daniel from the popular Southsea Supper Club he’s hosted since 2016. The concept is simple but brilliant — he cooks a three-course meal for up to 14 strangers, creating a unique and memorable dining experience.

Now, he’s taking that passion further. “My aim is to champion local, seasonal and responsibly produced foods,” Daniel told Spotted. And with his reputation, that’s a promise we can trust.

The Southsea Deli: Opening Soon

The Southsea Deli opens at 4 Victoria Road South, next to the Albert Road traffic lights, early February. Get ready for a fresh, tasty new hotspot serving up the very best of local flavours!
