Dog Walker Killed in Hit-and-Run on Pembury Road

A man in his 50s has died after being struck in a suspected hit-and-run in Tunbridge Wells.

Kent Police were called after a member of the public discovered the victim’s body just before 9.15pm on Thursday, 6 August 2020. The scene was on the A2014 Pembury Road, about 200 metres south of the Vauxhall Inn.

The man had injuries consistent with a collision. No vehicle stopped or reported the incident. He was walking a dog at the time, which was unharmed.

Police Plea for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

PC Jamie Woodhams of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged anyone with information to come forward. He said:

“We urgently need anyone with dashcam footage or information about the vehicles involved, before or after the incident, especially around the A2014 and A21 areas. If you notice a damaged or abandoned vehicle, please report it as it may be connected.”
