Major Blaze Erupts at Derelict Wolverhampton Factory
Just after 9pm on 5th December 2022, West Midlands Fire and Rescue launched a massive response to a huge fire at a derelict factory on Lower Horseley Fields, Wolverhampton. The entire rundown building, roughly 15m by 30m, was engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading rapidly to neighbouring units.
150 Firefighters Battle Giant Flames
Four fire engines raced to the scene initially, but the scale of the inferno meant reinforcements flooded in. Over 20 appliances and two hydraulic platforms are now battling the blaze, with crews working flat out to contain the damage.
Major Incident Declared Over Safety Fears
By 10pm, firefighters declared a major incident due to the fire’s size and its threat to nearby homes and the adjacent railway line. Authorities have urged locals to keep windows and doors shut amid smoke and potential hazards.
