Man Left Fighting for His Life after Savage Woking Pub attack

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following a violent assault in Knaphill, Woking this evening (Thursday 11 May). A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody At around 8.35pm Police were called to The Anchor pub following reports of a serious assault. Witnesses described seeing a sea of blue light three Police cars, a dog unit and an ambulance at the venue. It is understood a second man ran off following the attack. A customer who asked not to be named said one of the blokes was kicking the man who was on the floor like his head was a football A man has been rushed to hospital with a serious injury to his head DC Mikki Mayhew from West Surrey Criminal Investigation Department, said: “This was an extremely violent and seemingly unprovoked attack and we need the public to come forward with any information to help us establish the circumstances around this incident. “If you were in the pub and witnessed the assault or any events leading up to the assault and have not yet spoken to police please call us with any information.” Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting, P17113271 or report online at https:///www.surrey.police.uk/contact-us/report-online/.
