Man stabbed in the Neck in Ilford Police reveal

Detectives are appealing for information following a stabbing in Ilford on Bank Holiday Monday. Police were called by London Ambulance Service [LAS] to Valentines Park, Perth Road, Ilford at 4.30pm on Monday, 28 May to reports of an injured male. Officers and LAS attended. At the scene a 28-year-old male was suffering from stab injuries to his back and neck. He was taken by LAS to an east London hospital where his condition was deemed not life threatening. Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the stabbing or saw the suspect either before of after what appears to have been an unprovoked attack. The suspect is described as an Asian male, aged 20-30 years. He was wearing a long green jacket and carried an eight inch silver bladed knife with a brown handle. Immediately following the attack he left the scene on foot in the direction of Perth Road. Anyone who witnessed this incident but has not yet spoken with officers should call police on 101 quoting reference number CAD5215/28May or tweet @MetCC.
