Police Hunt Man Over Shocking Bus Sexual Assault in Hackney
Detectives are urgently appealing for help to find a man linked to a sexual assault on a Hackney bus.
Incident Happened On W15 Bus
The attack took place on the W15 bus at around 4:40pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. A teenage girl boarded the bus at Morning Lane E9 and sat downstairs. A man got on at Glyn Road E5 and took the seat next to her.
He reportedly made lewd comments and then touched her inappropriately. The girl got off at Warren Road E10 and walked home, but the man followed her for most of the way. Luckily, she eventually lost him.
Police Seek Public’s Help to ID Suspect
Specialist officers are supporting the victim as the hunt for the attacker continues. Police now want the public to identify the man captured on CCTV.
Detective Constable Dion Bascombe: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the girl to endure. No one should have to experience something like this while going about their daily life and taking a bus home. We’ve made various enquiries but now believe the public can assist us. If you think you know who he is, please call us without delay.”
