A colossal blaze has erupted at a scrap yard in Rochford, engulfing approximately 200 cars in a raging inferno. Firefighters are currently on the scene battling the flames as nearby residents are advised to close their windows due to the heavy smoke.
The fire, which broke out at around 9:06 PM on August 11, has led to an immediate response from emergency services. As of the latest update at 10:45 PM, around 60 firefighters from multiple stations, including Basildon, Canvey Island, Chelmsford, Corringham, Hawkwell, Leigh, Shoeburyness, South Woodham Ferrers, Southend, Wickford, and Rayleigh Weir, are working tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
