Police have recovered fresh CCTV footage from Brightlingsea harbour as the search for missing Brazilian woman Vitoria Barreto continues. The new video captures activity between midnight and 6am on 4 March, a crucial window in the case.

Harbour CCTV Catches Vessels, But No Clear Sign of Vitoria Yet

The footage shows several boats going about routine marine work during the early hours. Investigators believe this is when Vitoria may have unmoored a vessel from a pontoon. However, the engine wasn’t started, and the boat drifted slowly out of the harbour, ending up near Bradwell-on-Sea later that morning.

So far, no clear images conclusively show Vitoria unmooring the boat. But officers know she was seen alone at the waterfront at 12:16am, after climbing over a nearby metal fence near where the boat was moored.

Police Plea: Workers and Witnesses Urged to Speak Up

“If you were working in Brightlingsea harbour or passing through between midnight and 6am, please come forward,” urged Detective Superintendent Anna Granger.

“Did you spot anyone acting suspiciously or unmooring a boat? Anything unusual for that time of night? Your information could be vital.”

“We promised Vitoria’s family we’ll chase every lead. If you were on the water or in the area at that time, please contact us.”
