Tragic Crash in Rowley Regis: One Dead, Two Seriously Injured
West Midlands Ambulance rushed to a horror smash in Rowley Regis just after 1am on Thursday. A car slammed into a wall at the junction of Powke Lane and Cox’s Lane, sparking a major emergency response.
Ambulance Teams Scramble to Scene
The police called the ambulance service at 1.03am. Within three minutes, paramedics, two paramedic officers, a Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car, HART paramedics, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care paramedic were on site.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When the first ambulance resources arrived on scene within three minutes of the 999 call being made, they found a car which had collided with a wall. Three occupants were out of the vehicle and two were still inside.”
Driver Dies Despite Life-Saving Efforts
The driver, a man, was in critical condition. Police were performing CPR when paramedics arrived. Medics started advanced life support immediately. But tragically, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two Passengers Seriously Hurt
- One male passenger suffered severe injuries. He received trauma care at the scene before being rushed under blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for specialist treatment.
- Among the three who were already out of the car, one man had serious injuries needing trauma care and was also taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
- Two others had less severe injuries and were treated at the scene before being taken to Sandwell Hospital for checks.
Emergency teams continue their investigations into what caused the devastating crash that has left one man dead and several others fighting for their recovery.
